We Welcome New Staff
The Welcome to Cynthia Miller, M.Ed., NCC, LPC. Cindy comes to FOCUS in her final year of doctoral training in counselor education and supervision at the University of Virginia. She is a licensed professional counselor with over ten years of experience working with individuals facing normal developmental issues and life transitions to severe and persistent mental illness. She is excited to be working at FOCUS, where she hopes to build on her clinical skills by providing couples counseling in addition to individual counseling with clients of all ages.
Job Opening
FOCUS Women's Resource Center seeks an experienced nonprofit administrator to serve as Director of TEENSIGHT Services. This position is part of an executive management team with responsibility for oversight of the agency's youth programs and services. A complete position description is available by clicking here. The Focus
Women's Resource Center FLEA is now open every Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
We offer clothing, NEW MERCHANDISE JUST IN FROM J. JILL, miscellaneous household items and gently used clothing. This is a great opportunity to purchase new clothing and accessories, shoes, and boots from J.Jill for yourself, or for holiday gifts at very reasonable prices.
The FOCUS FLEA is located at 953 Second St., S.E. (IX building, off of Elliott Ave) in Charlottesville, Va. There is plenty of free parking. We are right next to Blue Wheel Bikes. Directions.

Volunteers Needed
Resource Mothers -to assist our Pregnant and Parenting Teen Program. The Resource Mother makes home visits to teens enrolled in the program on a weekly basis to teach them how to take care of their new families and themselves providing emotional support when needed and linking them to health and social services. Front Desk Receptionist - 2 hours/day available
Flea Market/Trunk Sales - help stocking and sales on Wednesdays 11:00am to 3:00am, plus one Saturday each month.

Hours and Weather-related Closings
Our normal hours are 8:30 to 4:30, Monday through Friday. In case of inclement weather, FOCUS follows the Charlottesville City School schedule. If they are closed, we are closed.

Thank Yous
Thank you to Andrea Dane, 4th year UVA psychology major, for her work with us as a Counseling & Career Services intern. Her contributions included a bilingual (Spanish/English) resource list and a Professional Image presentation at Albemarle High School. Congratulations on your graduation, Andrea!
Thank you to Emilie Rafal, senior Women’s Studies major at The College of William & Mary, for her work as a Counseling & Career Services intern last summer. She worked diligently on helping to revise the booklets for ex-offenders and their families for the OAR- sponsored Social Reintegration Committee. Welcome
We are eagerly anticipating the addition of two new Counseling & Career Services interns. Ashley Herndon, undergraduate psychology major at Longwood University, will join us this summer. Kristen Webster, graduate student in community counseling at The College of William & Mary, will join us for the 2009-2010 academic year.
