The
TEENSIGHT program addresses the problems of teen
pregnancy, at-risk youth, and youth unemployment in
our community. The program responds to the target
populations' demonstrated need for service. The
program helps teenagers complete high school or earn
GEDs, complete career or vocational training, find
employment, find housing, become more responsible
parents, and become responsible contributing members
of the community.
TEENSIGHT offers a variety of services for men and women under the age of
18. All assistance and services are provided free of charge. We have served the youth of our community since August of 1988.
TEENSIGHT works with parenting, pregnant and at-risk youth by helping them to complete high school and become responsible parents and community members. The In-School Pregnant and Parenting Teen Program
is a pregnancy and sexually transmitted disease prevention program
offered in area high schools and assists with childcare expenses. Girls Empowered to Make Success (GEMS) targets girls 10-15 years old to reduce high-risk behaviors, such as substance abuse and early initiation of sexual activity.
By providing these services to the community, TEENSIGHT is also able to work with young adults in other ways. A wide variety of supportive services are often required before many young adults can become completely self- sufficient. Self-sufficiency is composed of many small accomplishments that are frequently taken for granted by most Americans. TEENSIGHT recognizes this, and we work hard with participants to facilitate growth, success, and maturity.
